The Left Crowns the Wrong Queen

The Left Crowns the Wrong Queen

A frightening recent report: an estimated 200 million Muslim girls and women alive today have been forced to go through female genital mutilation; also frightening: in America and Europe most of the leaders of the feminist movement have remained all but silent amidst this horror.  There have been, thankfully though, a few exceptions. The most notable of them has been Ayaan Hirsi Ali who has become the leading voice in the fight against this attack upon the body, heart and spirit of so many. Hirsi Ali seemingly has been drawn to this fight by her own life journey.

Born in Somalia 48 years ago to a devout Muslim family, Hirsi Ali at the age of five was subjected, under the consent of her own mother and father, to genital mutilation; at 20, faced with an arranged marriage accompanied by the threat that if she refused to go through with it, she would be murdered by family members in an “honor killing”, she fled to the Netherlands (also known as Holland).

It was in that northwestern European nation, where she further witnessed the brutality of Muslim extremists. In 2004, while serving as a member of the Netherlands lower legislative body, to which even then though a recently arrived immigrant, she had been elected the year before, Hirsi Ali co-wrote with Theo van Gogh the movie “Submission”.  The film depicted the violence and abuse, including genital mutilation, committed against women in many Muslim nations. As a result of the controversy surrounding the film, both she and van Gogh received death threats from Muslim extremists.  These threats proved to be anything but idle:  later that year, Theo van Gogh, the great grandnephew of the legendary painter Vincent van Gogh, was murdered by a 26 year- old Moroccan-Dutch Islamic terrorist.

Need to Elect Local Republicans

Need to Elect Local Republicans

I want to thank the Queens Village Republican Club Board Members for the honor they are about to bestow upon me, being named Community Leader of the Year at the 143rd Anniversary Lincoln Dinner. My parents always encouraged me to give back to the community.

I have been a Board Member at the Bay Club for nine years. I am currently the Board President, and I am proud of the work I have accomplished and excited about the work we have planned going forward. The two buildings at the Bay Club have a total of 1037 units, and approximately 2400 residents. It is a gated and unique community as it offers several amenities such as an indoor garage, security, health club, restaurant etc. As a Board Member you have vast responsibilities that require good leadership and decision making.

Pamela Geller Speaks at QVGOP Book Event

Pamela Geller was the featured speaker at the February 1st Book Event for her new book, Fatwa: Hunted in America, the chronicles of her courageous fight for freedom all across America against the fake righteous bastions of the left, and their allies, the jihadists.

Pamela Geller has been called the Joan of Arc of the counter jihad movement and her critics call her the most dangerous woman in America. She says truth is the new hate speech, and she has been targeted by jihadists and leftists since she stood up to speak the truth and defend our most fundamental right, our freedom of speech.

Be Grateful Trump Broke the Overton Window

Be Grateful Trump Broke the Overton Window

By Dennis Saffran| February 2, 2018

On the eve of the first anniversary President Trump’s Inauguration, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said something remarkable. It points to why many of us are Trump enthusiasts even if the president does sometimes make us cringe. Defending religious freedom and diversity, McCarthy nonetheless took on the cultural Left’s ubiquitous cliché that “diversity is our strength”: “We did not survive, grow, and become the most powerful civilization in human history because we were focused on our diversity,” he cautioned. “It is not our differences that make us stronger. It is our unity despite our diversity–unity of past, of principles, and of purpose that brought us out of many into one.” Watch it here.

Mayor de Blasio announced plans last week to place a homeless shelter on Manhattan’s “Billionaires’ Row” just south of Central Park. The shelter, which will house 150 single adult men, will be located in the former Park Savoy hotel at 158 W. 58th St., a block from the Ritz Carlton and abutting New York’s priciest luxury apartment building, the $1.5 billion One57 on W. 57th St. The penthouse there sold for $100.5 million three years ago, the highest tab ever for an apartment in the city.

Be Part of the Great Opposition!

Presidents Message, February 2018

By Phil Orenstein

It’s 2018, the year we’ve dubbed, “the new golden era for America and the Republican Party,” and we have some exciting meetings coming up, including a book signing event with Pamela Geller on February 1st. We are hosting historical events and tours, and our glorious Lincoln Dinner on March 18th, as well as some thrilling races for Congress, U.S. Senate, State Senate and Assembly, and Governor to look forward to.

We will be meeting many of the candidates for the respective offices at our upcoming club meetings, as we just recently met U.S. Navy SEALs Veteran, Dan DeBono running for Congress in the 3rd District. Our patriotic club members pitch in and work hard to help get our outstanding candidates elected. We campaign, petition, canvass voters, donate money, make phone calls, rally, pray, stuff envelopes, and enter data around the clock. Over the years, we have accumulated a wealth of wisdom and experience on the election process and what makes a good candidate.

Why Republican, Why Now?

Why Republican, Why Now?

By Joe Concannon

Happy New Year everyone!  We are now rolling into the 2018 election cycle where statewide and State Senate and Assembly seats are up for your attention.  With the state facing a 4.4-billion-dollar deficit and with Governor Cuomo spending $354 million on promoting himself, and every elected official proposing legislative spending for their districts, one must wonder what in the world is going on up in Albany.

At the January 2018 Queens Village Republican Club meeting we heard from a potential candidate for governor, Harry Wilson.  Sadly, Wilson bowed out of the race citing family concerns and attention.  Still, Wilson who swore in our club board members, cited many areas ripe for another candidate to unload on Cuomo, who spends like a drunken sailor (nothing against sailors).
