Trump Opened the Discussion on National Security

Our very future depends upon a huge turnout at the polls. Our only weapon is voting. If we want to save our country from enduring another four years of Obama’s policies under a Clinton administration, we Republicans need to speak out, spread the message and vote in great numbers starting with the GOP Primaries. We need to talk to our neighbors and friends and bring them into the conversation. There is no time for apathy on our critical journey to save our nation and way of life.

A Christmas Memory

Frederick R. Bedell Jr., wrote “A Christmas Memory” which was first published in Newsday in 2009. He has updated this sweet story year after year and this year we present it as the front page article in the January issue of the Queens Village Eagle and herewith on the QVGOP website. Mr. Bedell is the Grand Knight of St. Anastasia Knights of Columbus Council #5911 and a member of the Queens Village Republican Club. We wish all our members and friends a very Merry Christmas! Enjoy the story.

NEW YORKERS OPPOSE DE BLASIO ZONING AMENDMENTS

Call to actionOur Club held a forum on this topic several months ago. This is an update. The City Planning Commission held a public hearing on December 16. Hundreds showed up for a room that only held 150. Some waited 9 hours to speak, others never got to speak at all. Most were against the two proposals: MIH (Mandatory Inclusionary Housing) which will require that a certain number of apartments in new buildings be “affordable”. Critics charge that the definition of affordable can be as high as $3,000 a month. Just a giveaway to De Blasio’s developer friends.

For the NYPD, this has been a terrible year

Can New York City be harmful to your health?

By Joseph R. Concannon

Not one year ago, elected officials from all levels of government were flaunting the progressive left’s notion that police officers were not to be trusted. Whether it was President Obama, former Attorney General Holder or Mayor de Blasio, they didn’t miss a beat to bang hard on the drum with great indignation, fueling disrespect for law enforcement in every corner of our nation. Can this type of dangerous rhetoric be harmful to your health? Police officers certainly think so. It’s been a terrible year.

Give your local papers a piece of your mind

Give your local papers a piece of your mind!

feather_penIf you’re as outraged as I am by what you’re reading in the media lately, you need to pick up your pen (or keyboard) and write to your local papers and give them a piece of your mind! You might want to start with a letter to the New York Times (letters@nytimes.com), which just came out with a front page editorial, for the first time since 1920, entitled The Gun Epidemic calling for stricter gun control, just days after we suffered one of the worst terrorist attacks in U.S. history.

Joyous Christmas/Chanukah Party with QVGOP Family

The Queens Village Republican Club hosted a celebratory Christmas/Chanukah Dinner Party with nearly 100 Queens Village Republicans and friends. Many jubilant new faces were in the crowd and friends from as far away as the Bronx, New Jersey and East Fishkill, NY shared in the joy of the holidays. Everyone was excited to be part of the NEW Republican Party as we enjoyed a feast catered by NYC’s best, Bassett, and we listened intently to the rousing words of Queens County GOP Chair, Bob Turner and NYS Federation of Republican Women President, Ann Schockett.

VOTE FOR JOE CONCANNON ON NOVEMBER 3RD!

VOTE FOR JOE CONCANNON ON NOVEMBER 3RD!

grand opening

The major theme of Joe Concannon’s campaign for the City Council race in District #23 is to “send de Blasio a midterm message.” This message is boldly emblazoned on all campaign signs and literature. The notion that de Blasio is taking NYC in the wrong direction is shared by voters of all political affiliations. Some are asking what is the message? In answer to the question, here’s some recent history.
