Ken Abramowitz is co-founder of NGN Capital, a $450 million worldwide healthcare venture capital fund. Formerly he was a Managing Director for the Carlyle Group. He is a writer, speaker and freedom activist for saving Western Civilization. He is the founder of SavetheWest.com, which is dedicated to saving Western civilization, based upon the fundamentals of individual rights, free enterprise and limited constitutional government which is under assault, and we are losing the battle.

Former U.S. Congressman and Fox News contributor John LeBoutillier spoke about national security at our January 2016 monthly meeting. It was a public forum and John delivered a riveting, inspiring presentation that articulated the politics behind Barack Obama’s failed leadership and his destructive foreign policy. John LeBoutillier is a renowned political commentator, columnist, radio and TV personality, author and public speaker. He is a former Republican Congressman who served in Northeastern Queens and was elected in 1980. He served on the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the Special House POW/MIA Task Force. One of his books he co-authored with Ed Klein “The Obama Identity”. He appears every Sunday on Harris Faulkner’s Fox News show, Political Insiders.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) just released a new Republican Leadership Initiative (RLI) commercial featuring Pierry Benjamin who will be the recipient of our prestigious Youth of the Year Award at our upcoming gala Lincoln Dinner on February 28, 2016 at Antuns of Queens Village. A TV version of this video will be featured during the National GOP Presidential Debates on January 14th which will be aired on the Fox Business Network, and on January 28th which will be aired on the Fox News Channel.

This is the most important year for each and every one of us and for our country as well. For my New Year’s resolutions, besides the health and happiness of my wife, my family and friends, and other personal items, this is the year I resolve to build the Club and the grassroots Republican Party and win elections here in Queens, and to unleash my maximum potential for the greatness of our city, state and nation. This way, I will be joining millions of other patriots who are fighting to restore our country to the values and ideals that made America great.  I look forward to working together with all of you in 2016!

The Heroic Kurds: America’s Mistreated Ally

Kurdish freedom fighters, quietly allied with America, made international headlines this year when they liberated from the beastly rule of ISIS the Syrian city of Kobani in January, and again ten months later when they freed the Iraqi city of Sinjar. That rule which began with ISIS’ invasion of those two cities in late 2014 had been brutal:  Christians and Kurds in both cities had been murdered and raped in countless thousands. Their liberation by the Kurdish freedom fighters one year later had saved countless others from the same fate.  It was a liberation that, it was said by some at the time, was made mainly possible by the Kurdish/ American alliance.

LINCOLN DINNER 2016 SHAPING UP TO BE ANOTHER BLOCKBUSTER

Our Club over the decades has been known as the producer of the most lavish Republican political event of the year: the annual Lincoln Dinner. Our Club revived this exciting event around 1994 after a hiatus of several years. Today it is once again the event to be at and be seen at. A sampling of past bold face headliners include: Florida Congressman Lt. Col. Allen West, Mayor Bloomberg, Mayor Rudy Giuliani, NYS gubernatorial candidate and author Herb London, anti-Islamist firebrand Pam Geller, CUNY board member and lightning rod Jeffrey Wiesenfeld, Weekly Standard editor William Kristol, just to name a few.

Trump Opened the Discussion on National Security

Our very future depends upon a huge turnout at the polls. Our only weapon is voting. If we want to save our country from enduring another four years of Obama’s policies under a Clinton administration, we Republicans need to speak out, spread the message and vote in great numbers starting with the GOP Primaries. We need to talk to our neighbors and friends and bring them into the conversation. There is no time for apathy on our critical journey to save our nation and way of life.

A Christmas Memory

Frederick R. Bedell Jr., wrote “A Christmas Memory” which was first published in Newsday in 2009. He has updated this sweet story year after year and this year we present it as the front page article in the January issue of the Queens Village Eagle and herewith on the QVGOP website. Mr. Bedell is the Grand Knight of St. Anastasia Knights of Columbus Council #5911 and a member of the Queens Village Republican Club. We wish all our members and friends a very Merry Christmas!
