Vote for the Message on Election Day

By Phil Orenstein

The Sept 20th editorial “New York State of Gloom” in the New York Post says it best: “…our unaccountable electeds may be in for a rude awakening. Because it’s not clear that anything other than a humiliating political defeat will ever drive home the message.”

In the upcoming NYC election, the message is much more important than the messenger. People are still voting Democrat even while our neighborhoods are being flooded with illegal migrants and our city is in chaos. But it’s urgent that we recognize the only ones who can solve this issue are Republicans, who will close the border, eliminate sanctuary policies, and put American citizens first over migrants. Democrat policies are the cause of the invasion of so-called “asylum seekers,” the vast majority of whom are here illegally. The party of illegal immigration is solely to blame for the chaos our city is in. You may agree with Democrats on many other issues and find Trump repugnant, but in this coming election for NY City Council, in order to save our city and state, you have to send a powerful message to Democrats that you’re not going to put up with the destruction of New York City by the influx of illegal migrants.

Whether or not you like the messenger, this message has to come out loud and clear from all voters, Democrat, Republican, Independent or unaffiliated voters. If you’re going to vote on Election Day, November 7th, vote Republican or stay home. Over 100,000 migrants have arrived and are being housed in NYC, and if voters keep electing Democrats, we will have 200,000 by next June and 300,000 by the end of next year. It’s coming to every neighborhood. Yours is next! Our elected officials have forsaken us, and the only way to stop this crisis is to vote them out.

From the Biden administration’s open border policies, to Hochul, Schumer, Boro President Richards, Mayor Adams and our local Democrat City Council members and their radical sanctuary city and state policies, they all put the needs of illegal migrants over the citizens of New York City. Everything you value, your family, your neighborhood, your safety, your schools, your property values, local businesses and restaurants will all be affected. At a projected cost of $12 billion and a 15% cut in city services, we the taxpayers are paying for all the housing, food, and services for the migrants. Every city service will be cut including schools, libraries, parks, sanitation, and housing programs. Police, fire, and corrections departments are all expected to slash overtime, at a time when crime is on the rise and 1000’s of cops and civil servants are fleeing their departments.

Everything is contingent on sending a message to Democrats, the party of illegal immigration.  Democrat politicians have put out the welcome mat to all migrants, telling us about their value to America. The silence has been deafening from Chuck Schumer and House minority leader, Hakeem Jeffries to pressure Biden to close the border. But last November, Schumer had the gall to say the only way for a great future for America is to welcome more migrants because “we’re  short of workers” and our population “is not reproducing on its own.” Governor Hochul lectures us on the benefit of migrants to New York State, telling suburban counties to welcome them. Queens Borough President Donovan Richards proudly welcomed the migrants to the tent city at Creedmoor expressing his concern for their food, the cleanliness of the bathrooms, and his anguish over the fact that they didn’t have enough scooters.

The migrant crisis was created by Democrats, especially the “mayor of the illegal aliens” in the words of Curtis Sliwa. Last year, Mayor Adams went to Port Authority to welcome buses full of migrants and stated he’s proud we are a “right to shelter state.” But recently Adams raised the white flag of surrender, overwhelmed by the 1000’s pouring into the city every week. At a recent town hall he declared: “Never in my life have I had a problem that I didn’t see an ending to. I don’t see an ending to this. This issue will destroy New York City.”

The Democrat Party opened the floodgates to illegals. They are cheating legitimate immigrants.  Millions who are trying to enter the country legally, undergoing the legitimate visa process, are now blocked. Immigrants from India, Haiti, Caribbean, Asian, and African countries, going through the legal process for years, are now pushed to the back of the line, and illegal migrants are in front.

The Democrats are the party of the illegal aliens. The cops at the Creedmoor tent city site, are stationed inside the gate protecting the migrants from the citizens of the community, not the other way around. The migrants are getting free laundry service.  Our tax dollars are used to protect and serve the migrants. The illegal migrants come first, and taxpayers, homeowners, and citizens are last. Our local politicians, city council, state senate and assembly representatives, offered only lip service and never attended a single rally to talk to their constituents. Instead, they told the residents in the neighborhood of the Creedmoor tent city It’s the new normal, get used to it.

Cop cars stationed inside the gate at the Creedmoor tent city site, protecting the migrants from the community!

They are not looking out for you. They put illegal aliens first and citizens last. Why would you vote for politicians who don’t care about you, your families, your communities, your city, state and country? The Democrat Party has promised you everything. All they delivered is the destruction of our cities and our communities. Under one-party rule by Democrats New York City and State have been in severe decline and the only way to change it is to vote Republican. The most important issue that impacts our lives is the migrant issue. The Democrats have no answer, and no plan, except to plead for more money for the migrants. Republicans have the solution: close the border, enforce the immigration laws, get rid of fake sanctuary proclamations, support the work of ICE, speed up the legal immigration process, and adjudicate the so-called “asylum seekers” quickly. Republican elected officials are standing with the people at rallies, in Staten Island, at Floyd Bennet Field, actively stopping the illegals and shutting down the tents. Republicans have the solution, but they need to be elected to implement it. Otherwise, schools will fail, hospitals will collapse, crime will increase, property values will plummet, and the city will get worse and worse very quickly. We are all NYC citizens. We’re all in this together. We will win together or lose together. The way out for all of us is to vote Republican. For the good of us all, rise up for heaven’s sake, get off the damn couch, and get out to vote and send a message on Election Day!
