New Jersey Hall of Fame (NJHOF) Inductee Selection Process
To ensure that only the most deserving candidates are recognized, nominees must typically have resided in New Jersey for a minimum of five years.
The selection process is meticulously designed and unfolds in four phases.
In Phase I, a distinguished panel of experts, appointed by the New Jersey Hall of Fame Board, carefully curates a list of 120 remarkable individuals in each category by late January.
Phase II ballots will be sent to the New Jersey Hall of Fame Voting Academy to narrow the potential nominee list down to 60 by the end of February.
Phase III allows the public to cast votes online or via manual ballots between March 15th and April 15th.
This democratic approach ensures that community voices are heard and valued. Once Phase III concludes, the New Jersey Hall of Fame Board determines and honor the inductees based on the top vote-getter in each category, as well as other individuals they deem worthy of recognition.
In Phase IV, Inductees are announced in June or July.
This careful, multi-step process illustrates NJHOF commitment to celebrating the extraordinary contributions of New Jersey’s finest citizens.
