We successfully launched the January issue of our club’s brand new free “Queens Village Eagle” newspaper. This is the front page of the February issue:
Over 2 dozen volunteers helped to distribute 5000 copies of our January newspaper with the goal of spreading the word to the citizens of Queens that we are no longer a one-party city and state! This will usher in the Great Awakening in Queens, as readers are exposed to our Republican principles, our values and our Republican candidates every month!
The February issue will have a print run of 10,000! Please email us at INFO@qvgop.orgasap to be part of our distribution network.
It’s easy and fun! Drop off a handful of newspapers at 3 or 4 of your local neighborhood stores as you shop or go out to eat. Your local merchants: supermarkets, laundromats, post offices, delis, doctor’s offices, restaurants will willingly let you put out a handful of free Queens Village Eagle newspapers for their customers.
This is the way we reach out and build our Republican Party and transform the electorate of Queens to wake up and vote Republican!
The Queens Village Eagle is a free community newspaper published by the Queens Village Republican Club and is supported by our sponsors. Contact us about sponsorship opportunities to advertise your business or your political campaign for low rates. Email us at INFO@qvgop.org for more information.
New York always has the potential to be the greatest city in the greatest state in the greatest country in the world. Over the first eight months of my campaign to become Governor of the Empire State, the people of New York have reaffirmed those ideals on a daily basis. Unfortunately, over the past fifteen years and four Democrat Governors, New York has lost its luster and the Albany swamp has turned our great state into a shell of its former self.
As a matter of fact, New York led the nation in population decline over the last year, resulting in a total outmigration of 319,000 New Yorkers, decreasing the Empire State’s population by 1.6%. This sobering fact is the result of a myriad of leftist policies that has seen crime spiral out of control, the highest taxes of any state in the country, less choice for parents over their children’s education, and a slew of mandates proving leftists only believe in the idea of, “my body, my choice” when it is convenient for their political narrative.
Over the past four years, I had the honor of working in The White House as Special Assistant to President Donald J. Trump. I learned many important lessons working for President Trump and for that matter, from my father, the greatest Mayor in New York City’s history, Rudy Giuliani. But the lesson that I think about every day is their tenacity driven by the belief that the United States of America is worth fighting for to our last waking breath. That’s why we NEVER GIVE UP!
Like President Trump and Mayor Giuliani, I will take on the leftist media and the Albany swamp to fight for the issues that are plaguing New Yorkers every day. For the purpose of this article, let’s dig deeper into the most pressing issue facing us all, crime. I pledge to tackle rising crime and the spiraling quality of life all across our great state by repealing cashless bail. From the Big Apple, where shootings have doubled over the past two years, to Rochester, where they hit the grim milestone of recording the most murders ever, “bail reform” has been an unmitigated disaster. Couple that with a narrative that we should defund the police along with Soros-funded district attorneys who choose not to prosecute most crimes, including many violent crimes, change must be immediate.
I have called for Kathy Hochul, under Article XIII, Section 13b of the New York Constitution, to remove New York County DA Alvin Bragg. It is obvious from his January 3rd memo to his Assistant District Attorney’s that he is reclassifying entire categories of crime. Bragg’s office has already altered facts on a police report and tried to entrap a police officer to sign said false report; thankfully that member of New York’s Finest refused to sign. As governor, I will hold DA’s and state employees who are complicit in rising crime accountable.
From now to November 8th, I look forward to addressing with you in more detail other vital issues including how I will bring about more choice to education by doubling the number of charter schools and creating an educational tax voucher program, how I will make New York a business-friendly and job-creating state again by cutting taxes and reduce regulation, and reaffirm my pledge that on day one, there will be only clear and honest health information from the governor’s office; no more unconstitutional mandates! I look forward to seeing you on the trail as together we will Make Albany Great Again!

GREAT NECK, NY – Historians will be analyzing, celebrating or both, the 80th anniversary of one of the most important presidential oratories ever delivered to the citizens of our great nation. The date was December 29th, 1940, and millions of Americans listened to their radios as President Franklin Delano Roosevelt gave a speech titled,“The Arsenal of Democracy’’.The speech that night was one of approximately 20 addresses – known famously as “fireside chats”– that Roosevelt, since becoming the nation’s 32nd president in 1933, periodically gave on radio broadcasts to the nation’s 132 million citizens, who were then facing the dismal economic realities of the financial catastrophe known as the “Great Depression”.
In his previous “Fireside Chats” Roosevelt spoke about the fears and the hardships suffered by a majority of Americans due to this financial disaster, and he outlined the details of his ambitious “New Deal” programs, which he vowed, would lead America out of its economic nightmare and into a secure and prosperous financial future. The most famous of Roosevelt’s depression – focused “Fireside Chats” was delivered on March 4, 1933 and bore the corresponding title of its celebrated declaration, “The Only Thing to Fear is Fear Itself’’.
On January 6, 2022, we kicked off the New Year riding a massive red wave into 2022 with a fabulous club meeting with some amazing speakers, Gavin Wax, the dynamic president of the New York Young Republican Club, and Barbara from Harlem, the “Godmother” of Black Conservatives. City Councilwoman Vickie Paladino administered the oath of office for the installation of our 2022 Club Officers and Board Members and shared stories of her first day on the job. We had a couple of young and impressive Republican candidates: Stefano Forte for State Senate, and Seth Breland for StateAssembly. Here are the videos and photos of the meeting.

Introduction: Conflicting Perspectives
Although the left and right have opposite definitions of “legitimate,” like the proverbial stopped clock that is right twice per day, with one caveat, leftists were right on one point, judicial illegitimacy. The caveat involves time. When leftists screeched that confirmation of Donald Trump’s nominees would make the judiciary illegitimate in their eyes, what really concerned them was that confirmations would convert the judiciary from practices the right thought were illegitimate to what the right thinks are legitimate.
Barbara from Harlem will be signing her compelling and illuminating memoir for purchase at the January 6th club meeting!
I am Barbara from Harlem and my God, my Country, and my Conscience are my guides.
I was a liberal by default. I asked no questions. I had no answers. I just pulled the lever to vote for Democrats as was expected of me. Most of my fellow Black Americans do not fully understand what the term “liberal” means, or who or what they are voting for. And, in turn they don’t realize how harmful those “liberal” policies are to our freedoms and liberties as Americans.
I was born into a culture that believes Black equals Democrat. A broken home, failed marriage, and a feeling of victimization fueled my need for inclusion, which the Democratic Party fulfilled. As an activist and member of the NAACP and Democratic Clubs in Harlem, the men I looked up to—the Rev. Jesse Jackson (whom I also campaigned for), Congressman Charlie Rangel, and Rev. Al Sharpton—reinforced the negative perceptions that shaped my world.
But just like false prophets, the false narrative that has been spoon-fed to us by Black leaders, the Black community, the media, and progressive politicians has enslaved Blacks in a victimhood mentality and entitlement mindset.
But my eyes were opened to reject victimhood and lack of accountability. My journey has proven to me that when you have clarity of conscience, love of God, and a deep-seated belief in America’s goodness, your life will be enriched and your focus will change to one of accountability.
I am Barbara from Harlem. I fought my way out. You can too.
In the heart of Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love, a short distance from the Delaware River and Penn’s Landing, stands Independence Hall, one of the most sacred temples in our republic. It is in that building that in 1776, fifty-six patriotic men signed the declaration and pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor, thereby jeopardizing their settled lives, their careers, and their wealth, even inviting death from King George and his war machine. Among the treasures in that historic building is the Liberty Bell with a small crack on its side. That crack reminds us that the freedom and individual liberties, which we take for granted, are fragile and that we must be vigilant all the days of our lives to let freedom ring, and to preserve our democracy, which even George Washington once described as “an experiment.”
Republicans and Conservatives need to support our candidates throughout the USA not only by our votes but also financially so we can regain control of Congress. Liz Joy is a special lady and a Republican and Conservative candidate running for congress in the 20th congressional district. The 20th encompasses all of Albany and Schenectady Counties and portions of Montgomery, Rensselaer and Saratoga counties. This district was just added to the NRCC’s top targets list and Elise Stefanik’s E-PAC has named Liz one of their twelve “Women to Watch.”
President’s Message for January 2022 by Phil Orenstein
Many of us get involved in politics to make a difference, make an impact, to give back to our communities, or to change the course of history by winning elections. The motives for me are all the above. In this sweet land of liberty, I can’t see doing anything less with our spare time. As a club, I believe we have made a huge impact on our community of Eastern Queens and beyond, and enjoyed many victories over the past year. We are riding a massive red wave into 2022, and there is a great deal to be grateful and optimistic about.
As we head into the New Year, it’s helpful to look back at the great things we’ve accomplished. Perhaps our biggest triumph was the astonishing November election results in our club’s catchment area in Eastern Queens. Outnumbered five to one in party enrollment, the data showed that most of the Election Districts turned from blue to red in the mayoral election!
Graphic comparison of election results between the 2013 and 2021 mayoral elections. Red = Republican, Blue = Democrat votes. The deeper the color, the greater % of votes for the party’s candidate
A significant majority voted Republican for the first time in decades. In this liberal part of town, many Democrats are realizing that their party has changed from what it was just a few years ago, and they are defecting to our side in droves! Our club played a big role in this transformation by getting the word out, mailing and distributing our newsletters, knocking on doors, campaigning for our candidates, and hosting inspiring monthly meetings. We made a huge impact, and we warmly welcome all recovering Democrats!
Throughout the pandemic, many of these meetings we hosted on Zoom, with nationally and internationally renowned guest speakers addressing critical issues. We hosted China expert Gordon Chang, Dr. Sandra Alfonsi, calling in from Israel, who has been rewriting the US civics standards to save our schools from leftist indoctrination, former White House Chief Strategist, Steve Bannon, and Trent England, founder of the “Save our States” project speaking about saving the Electoral College. We hosted a Sliwa vs. Mateo Republican primary debate, where Mateo was a no-show, and many more.
We took the lead throughout the year. Earlier this year, Democrats launched a diabolical fraud on the voters of NYC to undermine the Republican Party. This multi-million-dollar scam perpetrated by Democrats from the real estate industry conned 1000’s of Republicans into switching their party enrollment through telemarketer calls, texts, and fake voter registrations in the mail with the Democrat box already checked off. We saw this as a serious threat and refused to remain silent, although we heard nothing from the party establishment. We launched a first-rate website, videos, and radio appearances, and we fired back with a vast media and voter alert campaign for NYC voters to register and vote Republican to break the one-party monopoly destroying NYC. We stood up for our principles and fought for our party even when it seems our party is unwilling to fight for itself!
Later this year I received an email alert from Dawn Eskew, founder of Personhood NY who warned us about the latest scam by Democrats to rig our system of fair and honest elections. No one was paying attention to the three deceptive ballot propositions that would aid and abet voter fraud. So, we spearheaded a voter education drive for all voters to turn over their ballots and vote “no” on these ballot propositions. For many weeks on end leading up to Election Day we were out at shopping centers educating the voters, handing out 1000’s of flyers door to door, and blasting out the message to the press and social media. Then just before the election, the State GOP and Conservative Party got involved with a “Just Say No” tour and continuous radio spots. As a united front, we all were the winners, and the voters of NYS defeated all three fraudulent ballot props!
We were on the forefront of all the issues. We put out position papers on most all the consequential issues: antisemitism, the danger of China, stuffing the ballot box with mail-in ballots, corruption of the Board of Elections, the war on private property, Jewish voters beware of the repetition of history and stop voting Democrat, the real danger of Marijuana, vaccine mandates – today’s civil rights struggle, and so much more. You read many of these articles in our newsletter president’s message and in various media publications. Furthermore, we took legal action against the corruption of the Board of Elections and won in court. We enjoyed electoral victory in the Primary Election, where we were influential in the big win of Curtis Sliwa over the establishment candidate, Fernando Mateo. From day one we supported Vickie Paladino and celebrated her astounding victory as City Councilwoman, flipping a blue seat to red in Northeast Queens. At our recent Christmas/Chanukah Party, she said; “Queens Village Republican Club has been my home, they gave me my mic back in 2018, and I always said I would never ever forget them for that.”
This was a year of big wins in Queens, Long Island, the city, state, and throughout the country! Thank you to all our members and friends who were part of it, whether you donated your time, your money, or your prayers. We are excited to build on this for greater victories in 2022. We’re looking forward to a great New Year’s kickoff club meeting, to promising young Republican candidates, to expanding our club and our party, and to join together on March 20, 2022, for our gala Lincoln Dinner in the heart of Queens, the hometown of President Trump, to “Let Freedom Ring” in a magnificent display of patriotism, love of country, and the principles of the Republican Party. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
