We are proud and honored to announce that Fred Brown, Chairman of the venerated National Black Republican Council (NBRC) will be the recipient of the prestigious Harvey Moder Lifetime Achievement Award at the 141st Anniversary Lincoln Dinner, the highest honor of the Queens Village Republican Club, America’s oldest Republican Club. The gala dinner celebration will be held on Sunday, February 28, 2016, 3 – 8 pm at Antun’s, 96-43 Springfield Blvd., Queens Village, NY.
This esteemed achievement award is presented annually to real life American heroes, memorialized eternally in the name of Harvey Moder, the highly acclaimed past president of the Queens Village Republican Club, and World War II Veteran honored by Congress for his lifetime quest to fully account for our POW/MIAs.
Fred Brown has devoted decades as a great pioneer of the Republican movement, working to make America the greatest nation in the history of the world. The beginning of his historic legacy with the NBRC occurred in 1974 when he merged his membership of the New York State Black Republican Council into the NBRC and created the largest and most influential minority Republican organization in the state and in the country. The major objective is to increase participation of Blacks in all aspects of the Republican Party.
Fred Brown became a highly respected national Republican political activist and advocate by the end of the 1980 Republican National Convention, to which he was a Reagan Delegate. Since then, he has been a Delegate to the National Republican Convention and a National Convention speaker numerous times and has actively participated in every Republican Presidential campaign since 1980. He has been politically involved in hundreds of national, state and local Republican campaigns, serving as Statewide Chairman of the Reagan-Bush Committee of New York, Northeast Regional Chairman of the Reagan-Bush Committee for Blacks and Special Groups, as well as being politically involved in the successful campaigns of former Governor Pataki, Mayor Giuliani, Mayor Bloomberg, Senator Velella, Mayor Ernie Green, Mayor James Garner, and many others.
In addition to the Republican political arena, Mr. Brown’s distinguished service and accomplishments extend to the fields of business, education and community in which he has received numerous awards for his outstanding achievements and commitment. He has been a moral leader, a true inspiration and a mentor to many of the lives he touched. Many of his friends and colleagues will be flocking to the Lincoln Dinner from throughout the five boroughs of New York City and beyond, to pay tribute to this remarkable, dynamic human being, Fred Brown, for the long overdue honors he will be receiving. While this press release contains snippets, the full biography of Mr. Brown’s unparalleled lifetime achievements is documented in the Lincoln Dinner Journal as well as on the Queens Village Republican Club website, www.qvgop.org.
