The Queens Village Republican Club’s policy is to make no endorsements of candidates during a Republican primary contest, and this certainly applies to the GOP presidential races. However we may certainly take a look at outstanding candidates and the pearls of wisdom they bring to the table. One presidential hopeful in particular who recently declared her candidacy, Carly Fiorina, is a distinctive voice espousing the vision of our Founding Fathers and restoring faith in the American Dream. Whether she becomes the presidential nominee or not, it is imperative we listen to what she is saying.

vigil-8The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund hosts National Police Week each year, along with two other organizations: Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS) and Fraternal Order of Police (FOP). In 1962 United States President John F. Kennedy signed into law that May 15th would be known as National Peace Officers Day each year.  Henceforth, each year for the second week of May, the nation celebrates National Police Week.

Fred Bedell, Grand Knight of St. Anastasia Post #5911, and Glen Oaks Village resident, issued a proposal for the new athletic field under construction on Commonwealth Boulevard to be named  “The Brian Moore Athletic Field.”
