Arlene Mooradian was the recipient of the Harvey Moder Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2019 Lincoln Dinner. These were her words about the club she loved and nurtured for decades: “I have had the privilege of watching this club grow from a small neighborhood organization to the regional powerhouse it is currently…..A club such as this is more than a place for politics, it is a source for mental stimulation and socialization that has been such an enriching experience.”

Excerpt from her bio featured in the Lincoln Dinner Journal:
Arlene was born in East New York, Brooklyn, and attended Thomas Jefferson High School. She has lived in the same single-family frame house in Jamaica, Queens for 50 years. There, with husband and two children, successfully performed the sacred duties of wife and mother. Now an empty nester, she continues her nurturing instincts by caring for two cats.

But Arlene has shown a desire to support her community as well. She served as treasurer of the P.T.A. of nearby Public School 95. She is an active member of the Broadway-Flushing chapter of AARP. Perhaps most outstanding, however, is her devotion to all things Republican. She has been involved with local political clubs such as the now defunct Rego Hills Republican Club, is a member of the Angelo Graci Club in Ozone Park, and was a member of two other Queens GOP clubs that were merged in the mid-1990s into the Queens Village Republican Club: the John Foster Dulles Republican Club that met in Fresh Meadows, and the Nelson Rockefeller Republican Club that met on the Bellaire/Hollis border.

Arlene also was involved in the Queens County Woman’s Republican Club, and a charter member of the newer Queens County Federation of Republican Women. In the past, she was State Committee Woman of the 29th A.D. After the Rockefeller/Dulles mergers into our own Queens Village Republican Club, Arlene assumed the responsibility of being Financial Secretary, an elective board position, and has held that post for over 20 years. Arlene is also a member of the Club’s Ways & Means Committee. Few in Queens have shown the longevity of involvement in Queens GOP politics and it gives our Club great satisfaction in honoring Arlene for her lifetime of work in the Republican trenches.
