Henry Ike – A Vision for Queens

A Brighter Tomorrow for Our Community

By Henry ‘Ike’ Ikezi

As a proud resident of Queens for over three decades, I have witnessed firsthand the incredible transformation and resilience of our community. Queens is not just a place; it is a tapestry woven from the rich cultures, diverse backgrounds, and shared dreams of its residents. It is a borough that has faced challenges, yet has consistently risen to meet them with strength and determination. Today, as I stand before you as a candidate for Queens Borough President, I am filled with hope and conviction for a brighter future for all of us.

How Can Dragon Dance and Survive Alone Without an Eagle in the Trade Club?

By Ankush Bhandari

In the last week of April, when US President Donald J Trump claimed to have spoken to Chinese Premier Xi many times during the tug of trade war, the Media portrayed it as either a blatant misrepresentation or a result of confusion.

At that moment, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has rightfully downplayed these assertions, pointing out that the White House does indeed have options for tariff off-ramps. Such obfuscation will likely alienate Beijing, which has explicitly denied any on-going discussions. Nonetheless, China is proactively pursuing diplomatic avenues, including a recent delegation visit to Washington and discreet communications with U.S. think tanks for insights into the dynamics within Trump’s administration. Chinese state media emphasize unwavering resilience and a commitment to existing trade rules, with commentary invoking Mao Zedong to contextualize the on-going trade conflict.

On May 12th, the United States and China agreed to drastically roll back tariffs on each other’s goods for an initial 90-day period, which is a surprise breakthrough that has de-escalated a punishing trade war and buoyed global markets.

Queens Village Republican Club Endorses Curtis Sliwa for Mayor of New York City

Queens Village, NY — On June 30, 2025, the Board of Directors and Officers of the Queens Village Republican Club, the oldest Republican club in America, voted unanimously to endorse Curtis Sliwa for Mayor of New York City.

We support Curtis Sliwa, whose watchword is “Improve Don’t Move,” because of his public policies to bolster the blue-collar working-class families from the outer boroughs, the backbone of NYC, as well as reversing the exodus of police officers retiring in record number.  We support his plans to hire 7000 more cops, unshackle them, and his opposition to the City of Yes and the city’s destructive sanctuary policies.  He stood with us continuously for the two long years we fought to shut down the notorious tent city of illegal migrants at Creedmoor.  For this, we owe him our absolute loyalty and support.
