What is Common Core?

common core protest-2Common Core is destroying our education system and hurting our children’s future. Many volunteers are presently circulating the petitions to create a “Stop Common Core” ballot line in November.  Rob Astorino and our statewide candidates, Chris Moss for Lt. Governor, Robert Antonacci for Comptroller and John Cahill for Attorney General are all listed on the peititons, since they have pledged their support to stop Common Core once elected.

Astorino mtg-7-smThis Thursday evening, July 17 between 6:00 pm and 9:00 pm we will have a volunteer meeting for the Astorino campaign at our Chairman, Jim Trent’s house in Bellerose, Queens. This is part of the statewide effort to get Rob Astorino on a third party ballot line called “Stop Common Core.”

This is a letter from Club member Fred Bedell,  sent to local and regional newspapers regarding the “Meet Rob Astorino” event on Monday June 30th.

Astorino mtg-7-smI had the privilege to attend a meeting of the Republican club of Queens Village held at St. Anne’s Knights of Columbus hall in Glen Oaks Village, on June 30th. The guest speaker was Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino, who spoke why he wants to be the next governor of this great state of New York.

This is an excellent editorial in this morning’s Wall Street Journal detailing Rob Astorino’s  fight against the Federal Government, as well as Andrew Cuomo’s attempt to make race an issue in this campaign. Please pass it along and share with all your friends. 

Residents of the northern New York City suburbs were recently treated to a TV ad invoking images of the Jim Crow South and claiming that Westchester County executive Rob Astorino has “repeatedly violated anti-discrimination laws for years.” None of the ad is true, but it does reveal some important political news with national implications.
