Thanksgiving Prayer to Club Members, Friends and Families

We send this Thanksgiving prayer to our members, friends and families, wishing everyone a Thanksgiving holiday that is filled with joy, peace, love, and delicious food and drink!

One of the favorites for many of us on Thanksgiving Day is Charlie Brown’s Thanksgiving. Here again is that special prayer recited by Linus:

“In the year 1621, the Pilgrims held their first Thanksgiving feast. They invited the great Indian chief Massasoit, who brought 90 of his brave Indians and a great abundance of food. Governor William Bradford and Captain Miles Standish were honored guests. Elder William Brewster, who was a minister, said a prayer that went something like this: ‘We thank God for our homes and our food and our safety in a new land. We thank God for the opportunity to create a new world for freedom and justice.’ “

That new world for freedom and justice is America. We have a lot to be thankful for, namely, our family, friends and fellow club members, our US Constitution, our Founding Fathers, our US Service Members, our Veterans, Police, Firefighters and First Responders, President Trump and his America First agenda, and for America where the great light of liberty and justice shines brightly.  That is the meaning of Thanksgiving!
