Over the decades the Queens Village Republican Club has earned the reputation as the producer of the most lavish Republican political event of the year: the annual Lincoln Day Dinner. Our Club revived this exciting event around 1994 after a hiatus of several years. Today it is once again the event to be at and be seen at. A sampling of past bold face headliners include: Florida Congressman Lt. Col. Allen West, Mayor Bloomberg, State GOP chief Ed Cox, NYS gubernatorial candidate and author Herb London, anti-Islamist firebrand Pam Geller, Congressman Rick Lazio, Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa, CUNY board member and lightning rod Jeffrey Wiesenfeld just to name a few.

When the Ultimate Sacrifice Award was presented to the family of Marine Lance Corporal Greg Buckley at the Lincoln Dinner, and the majestic strains of the hymn, “Mansions of the Lord” was heard, the entire crowd was on its feet in solemn emotion.
The Rockaway Republicans attend the the 138th Lincoln Dinner
The Rockaway Republicans shared with some 200 Queens Republicans a great afternoon and wonderful tribute to America’s 16th President. This was the 138th such Lincoln tribute here in Queens, sponsored – as always – by the Queens Village Republican Club. Here’s a quick rundown of QVRC’s extraordinary guest speakers.
No better perpetuation of Lincoln’s ‘better angels of our nature’ can there be without a strong and solid K-12 education and Maspeth High’s Principal, Khurshid Abdul-Mutakabbir, described to us the classical education and curriculum he has instituted. He took the same education in Boston beginning at St. Mary’s, the very same grade school his mother and grandmother attended, and pitched the idea to NYC’s Board of Education and was chosen to run the new Maspeth High…awesome stuff for a school of immigrant and naturally born kids: our better angels.
The 138th Anniversary Lincoln Dinner, a spectacular success!
It was a sold-out crowd for the 138th Anniversary Lincoln Dinner that was a spectacular success and an unforgettable experience for all of the nearly 200 attendees. The event was a unique combination of inspiring speakers, patriotic friends from all nationalities and backgrounds and Antun’s world famous cuisine and catering. The most significant upshot was the inspiration to be optimistic about the future of America and the motivation to take action on our founding principles.
