QUEENS REPUBLICANS SPEAK OUT TO CHANGE THE STATUS CUOMO

Chanting “hey hey, ho ho, Andrew Cuomo’s gotta go,” a coalition of over two dozen vocal Queens and Nassau residents held a press conference today at Queens Borough Hall organized by the Queens Village Republican Club, to announce Governor Cuomo’s interim performance evaluation. Earlier this year, when the Governor made his offensive and arrogant remarks that if you don’t agree with his political views, you have no place in the State of New York, we came out to Borough Hall on a cold snowy day and raised our voices demanding an apology. We gathered today to let all New Yorkers hear that we’re going to change the Status Cuomo and stop the decline of New York, come November.

The Little Neck Douglaston Memorial Day Parade: Honoring Our Heroes

“…the parade spectators lining the streets of Northern Boulevard on May 26th will have the chance to see and hear the voices of the five heroic World War 2 veterans whom the members of the Parade’’s new Association selected to be Grand Marshals. These heroes, now all in their late eighties and early nineties and all now, parents, grandparents and great grandparents are Rocco Moretto, John Mc Hugh Sr. Thomas Dent, John Peterkin and Lucy Salpeter. They are all great heroes who deserve the honor the Association has bestowed upon them.”

Little Neck-Douglaston Memorial Day Parade 2013

Since its inception in 1927, the Little Neck Douglaston Memorial Day Parade (LNDMDP) has for four generations attracted the good, patriotic folks of Queens, Nassau County and beyond who have come to remember and honor the men and women of the Armed Forces who gave their lives to protect the rights and freedom that we enjoy today as Americans.

Honor Memorial Day

mem day 2013 -1Glen Oaks resident and Vietnam War Veteran, Fred Bedell wrote this letter as a tribute to the deep significance and purpose of Memorial Day.

Memorial Day is fast approaching, and I hope the many will not forget the importance of this day. Memorial Day in my book is not just another day off to shop for sales or backyard barbecuing. In my opinion Memorial Day is a time to remember all those who gave their lives to protect the freedoms we enjoy today.
