DR. SANDRA ALFONSI

Distinguished Senior Academic Fellow for Truth in Textbooks (TNT), who has dedicated her time and energy to rewrite the civics standards for US textbooks and curriculum. She will talk about her promising work to restore American civics standards to save our schools.

DR. SANDRA ALFONSI

Dr. Sandra Alfonsi was born and educated in Washington, D.C., where she received a B.A. and an M.A. in French Language and Literature from the George Washington University, and earned her Ph.D. in French Language and Literature from the Catholic University of America. She was Professor of French Language and Literature and Italian Language and taught at such colleges and universities as Baruch College, CUNY, Fordham University, St. John’s University, East Stroudsburg University and Northampton Community College.

It is in the field of U.S. Textbook Review that Dr. Sandra Alfonsi dedicates most of her time and energy. Her areas of expertise include, but are not limited to, Judaism as a World Religion, the Holocaust, the History of Israel from Biblical Times to Present, the Impact of Islam on 6-12th Grade US Textbooks, The Palestinian Liberation Organization, Terrorism, and the 9/11/2001 Islamist Attack on the US, as portrayed in US Textbooks.

Dr Alfonsi has been the Senior Academic Fellow for Truth in Textbooks (formerly Truth in Texas Textbooks) since its inception in 2013.  She has trained well over 200 social studies textbook reviewers and thru their efforts have reviewed over 100 social studies textbooks that are now being used in a dozen or more states. 

Dr. Alfonsi was President of the Queens Region Hadassah 1995-1999. She was the Director of National Hadassah’s Curriculum Watch and Chair of the Hadassah Academic Advisory Board for many years. She has been a reviewer of K-12 United States History, Social Studies and Global and World History textbooks since the mid-1990s.

Dr. Alfonsi was President of Queens Jewish Community Council (QJCC) 1997-2001 and lived in Bayside, New York.

Dr. Alfonsi made Aliyah to Israel on September 6, 2018 and lives in Jerusalem, Israel. She is Assistant to the Director of the Martef HaShoah (the Chamber of the Holocaust) on Har Tzion, Jerusalem and hopes to return to university teaching Fall 2021.

Truth in Textbooks is working to correct the social studies textbooks our children and grandchildren are being indoctrinated with today and return them to what once was a quality education with factual information.

NICHOLAS GIORDANO

Professor of Political Science at Suffolk Community College and host of The P.A.S. Report Podcast.  Recognized and well-respected for his analysis, Professor Giordano appears on radio and television to provide analysis on current issues and trends within government, politics, international relations, homeland security/emergency management, and social/cultural related issues. In addition, he is regularly called on to speak at events to provide expertise on critical issues facing the United States.

It is Professor Giordano’s passion that led him to start The P.A.S. Report. Sick of an advocacy news media that wants to dictate how to think, Professor Giordano started The P.A.S. Report because of his unique ability to breakdown complex political issues and explaining those issues in a way to appeal to everyday Americans. By introducing facts, the listeners can come to their own conclusions.
