Little Neck – Douglaston Memorial Day Parade Planning Meeting
March 26, 2014 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Since 1927, in war or peace, rain or shine the people of New York City have marched on Northern Boulevard in America’s largest Memorial Day Parade to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in conflicts over the course of our Nation’s history. We have marched to remember the fallen and honor those who serve.
In addition to the parade, an annual Art & Essay Contest open to all area students in grades K-9 traditionally takes place and a pre-parade Inter-Faith memorial service dedicated to those who have died in the service of our military forces is celebrated at one of our local houses of worship. None of this is possible without the generous financial support of many dedicated people.
The United War Veterans Council (UWVC) and others have indicated their willingness to help produce the 2014 Parade. It is hoped that members of our community will step forward to continue the tradition.
If you care about the parade, please get involved! The next meeting will take place at the Community Church of Little Neck on March 26, 2014 at 7:30pm. This web site is not affiliated with the parade committee.
All the best,
God Bless America and those who serve
