Louis DeMarco

My name is Ret. PO Louis DeMarco; I had the honor of attending Ptl. Gregory Foster, Sr. medal day at Long Island National Cemetery in June 2018 where he received the “Silver Star” from his tour in Vietnam.

I was asked to join an event at Long Island National Cemetery in December 2018. It turned out to be run by “Wreaths Across America” for placing “wreaths” on military veteran’s graves. This was my second time in this special place and I asked if I could purchase two wreaths. I then walked over to another section and placed one on Ptl. Gregory Foster Sr and another on Ptl. Joseph Piagintini grave. A tradition began!

Now 6 years later, with a team of volunteers, it grew from two wreaths in 2018 to 500+ wreaths in 2023 in 16+ cemeteries in Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, Suffolk, Westchester, and two graves in Los Angeles, California.

The need keeps expanding; we need more volunteers and of course donations as we get close to December 2024. The wreaths will be delivered on December 14, 2024 and will be picked up by Ret. Sgt. David Brooks (Louis & others) in the trailer he purchased to handle our large amount of wreaths. Join us for placing the wreaths on any of the days listed below. Please note weather can push placement back a day or two, so reach out if there is bad weather.

She taught as an Associate Clinical Professor of Law in Criminal Defense at Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University.

She is the former president of Manhattan’s largest School Board, CEC District 2, where she successfully campaigned to maintain merit-based admissions at NYC’s Specialized High Schools.
