ABOUT OUR EXCITING EXPERT GUEST SPEAKERS:

***Common Core expert, Madeleine Sharp, is the wife of a 28 year decorated veteran of the FDNY. She is the devoted mother of five beautiful and bright children, four who have graduated from the public school system and are in law school, graduate school and college and the youngest who is still in elementary school. Mrs. Sharp began an amazing journey through all things “Common Core” and will share her research and insights, that will not only educate us but terrify as well. Her eyes upon the NY State education system started as the direct result of her own family’s personal battle with the New York State Education Department – she and her husband were victorious. Her journey into all things “Common Core” brought her to research every last detail of the truth about this federal/corporate takeover. She has established several social media and web pages, where she is adept at giving detailed analysis and engaging in stimulating dialogue for the singular purpose of helping to inform and enlighten her fellow tax paying-American citizens about what has been happening in our state and 44 other states throughout our nation concerning the Common Core “regents reform agenda”.

***Common Core expert, Mary Calamia. is a clinical social worker who has worked with children and adolescents since 1995. She maintains a private practice in Stony Brook, where she serves children and families from more than 20 different school districts. Mary has testified to the NYS Assembly about the emotional damage children are experiencing since the implementation of the Common Core and is an ardent warrior in this battle. Mary partners with a 100 pound yellow Labrador Retriever named, “Jack”, who helps the children to find joy and laughter at times when it feels impossible.
