SUMMARY:Feb QVGOP Club Meeting: The Real Donald Trump
DESCRIPTION:Next General Club Meeting:\nThurs. Feb. 6\, 2020 at 7:30 pm\nYoung Israel of Holliswood – Holliswood Jewish Center\n86-25 Francis Lewis Blvd.\, Holliswood\, NY 11427\n\nSpecial Guest Speaker: \nTrump Campaign Photographer Gene Ho\nSpeaking on: \nTHE REAL DONALD TRUMP\nCome and Join Gene Ho\, Donald Trump’s Personal Campaign Photographer and author of the #1 bestseller\, TRUMP-ography: How Biblical Principles Paved the Way to the American Presidency\, for an evening of insights and anecdotes from his time with now President Donald Trump as Gene dispels popular myths and sets the record straight about attacks on the President! \nTRUMPography will be available for purchase and signing\, and you’ll have an opportunity for a photo with Gene! \n \nAlso Featuring: \nRUTH FOR CONGRESS\nRuth Papazian running for Congress in NY14 vs AOC\nRuth is a Republican “working class candidate” who was born and raised in the Bronx\, seeking the Republican nomination in NY Congressional District 14\, to run against AOC\, the most dangerous Congressmember in America. AOC will be defeated! \n \nAlso Featuring: \nU.S. 2020 CENSUS REPRESENTATIVE\n \nRefreshments will be served and Gift Shop will be open!\nSpeaker’s Bios are below\n\nGene Ho\nGene Ho is an American Photographic Artist and the author of the new book TRUMP-ography\, which is an Amazon #1 Political Best Seller and he is currently the personal photographer for Diamond and Silk. \nHis client list reads like a “who’s who” in the world of politics\, sports\, and the arts.  He is best known as being personal photographer to Donald Trump during all two years of his historic 2016 Political Campaign. \nHis company\, “Gene Ho Photography\, Inc.” has photographed some of the top sports celebrities in the NFL\, NBA\, and NASCAR.  He has photographed some of the Nation’s top celebrities and he was close personal friends with “The Artist Formerly Known as Prince.” In movies\, his co mpany has photographed actors such as Kevin Costner and Danny Trejo. Gene Ho currently stars in national Public Service Announcement for the charity Victory Junction which is the Paul Newman/Richard Petty camp for chronically sick children. \n  \n\n  \nRuth Papazian\n\nA “working class candidate”who was born and raised in The Bronx\, and still lives in the East Bronx.\nFirst member of her family born in the U.S.\nOldest child of parents who legally  immigrated from Egypt.\nEntered public school in The Bronx as a non-English speaker.\nA multi-racial family in which Armenian\, Arabic\, French\, and Turkish     are spoken\, in addition to English.\nWorked through college and graduate school in New York City\, and graduated debt-free.\nA health/medical writer and editor\, with a public service approach to journalism and public relations. \nHer work for Ketchum PR helped change U.S.\, U.K. and Canadian public health policy to mandate folic acid fortification of enriched grain products to prevent 27\,000 cases of spina bifida and related birth defects since 1998. \n\nWho is Ruth?\n \nAnyone who knows me personally knows that I am fiercely protective of my community. And that I love this country. \nThe radical left is convinced that America is evil—in large part because from Kindergarten to college\, schools teach our children that America is “garbage.” \nI take this very personally because my Armenian parents—who emigrated to America legally from Egypt after they married—did not raise me to think of America as “garbage.” \nAmong the reasons my parents left Egypt was to give the children they planned to have the priceless gifts of freedom and opportunity. \nAnd with the relatives they left behind subjected to the corrupt misery of Arab socialism under Nasser\, they taught me and my brothers to love and respect our country\, and to value the American Dream. \nFor this reason\, I’ve always loved the Fourth of July even better than my own birthday. Being born in this great country is the best gift anyone could ever have. \nAlthough they came to the U.S. to escape socialism\, my parents made sure we saw the oppression and desperation of life under socialistic regimes with our own eyes. \nIn 1968 they took us on a Grand Tour of Europe—but in addition to Austria\, France\, Italy and Germany they also took us behind the Iron Curtain to Albania\, Bulgaria\, Hungary and Romania. \nOne night in Romania\, my father pulled to the side of a dark street to figure out the directions to the hotel Americans were directed to by the government. Out of the darkness\, a young man approached the car and offered his nearby apartment to us for the night—this was way before Airbnb was invented. \nHe explained he was trying to save up to buy a car\, and that the government set his salary at a level that covered his rent\, groceries and small luxuries like the occasional new coat or new pair of shoes. No matter how hard he worked\, or how good he was at his job\, he would never earn enough to realize his dream of owning a car. \nThis was one of many lessons from that trip that stuck with me\, even as my college professors were extolling socialism and slamming capitalism.

SUMMARY:Whitestone Republican Club February Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Whitestone Republican Club February Meeting\nWednesday\, February 12\, 2020 at 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM\nGrace Episcopal Church\n1415 Clintonville St\, New York\, New York 11357\n\nVisit Facebook Event\nWe are off to a great start for the year. Thanks to everyone who came out for our January meeting and helped pack the house for former NYPD Commissioner Bernie Kerik. It was truly an exceptional and eye-opening evening and we greatly appreciate Commissioner Kerik coming out and giving us his time. We have an equally exciting line-up of speakers for February and we look forward to seeing everyone there. \nAlso\, we renew memberships on the calendar year\, so if you didn’t join or renew your 2019 membership in January\, please make sure to become a 2020 member of the Whitestone Republican Club. We are leading the effort to grow the Republican Party based on our shared conservative principles and your support makes our movement all that much more powerful as we challenge the Swamp right here in Queens County. \nOur speakers this month include: \nRICH LOWRY\nEditor of National Review Magazine and Conservative Author\nNamed editor of National Review in 1997 by William F. Buckley Jr.\, Rich Lowry also writes a twice-weekly syndicated column and appears frequently as a political commentator on public-affairs programs. He is the author of Lincoln Unbound: How an Ambitious Young Railsplitter Saved the American Dream—and How We Can Do It Again and Legacy: Paying the Price for the Clinton Years\, a New York Times bestseller. His latest book\, The Case for Nationalism: How It Made Us Powerful\, United\, and Free\, came out in November 2019 and is currently available on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/Case-Nationalism-Rich-Lowry/dp/0062839640 \nDOV HIKIND\nFormer Assemblyman\, Founder of Americans Against Antisemitism\nAfter serving 35 years in the NYS Assembly\, Dov Hikind retired from representing his Brooklyn district in 2018. Always an independent and controversial figure in NY politics\, he endorsed Donald Trump for president in 2016. Hikind recently founded Americans Against Antisemitism to fight the rising incidents of anti-Jewish attacks in NYC and nationally while clarifying that anti-semitic attacks in NY had nothing to do with the right or Trump and pointed at the Left as a source of antisemitism\, claiming that Ilhan Omar\, Rashida Tlaib\, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez\, Bernie Sanders and Linda Sarsour contributed to antisemitism and the legitimization of “hating the one place where the Jewish people have a place\, the State of Israel.” \nCANDIDATES CORNER\nIn our continuing effort to give local candidates a platform and especially for all the candidates seeking to challenge AOC\, we will hear from Scherie Murray about her effort to win the republican nomination in NY-13. \nAs usual we will also share updates on local issues and Republican Party activities and news
