SUMMARY:Queens County Republican Meeting
DESCRIPTION:ALL QVGOP CLUB MEMBERS ARE INVITED TO THIS EVENT. \n\nHello Fellow Republicans\,\n \n\n\nWe hope you’ll be able to join us at the second Queens Republican Club meeting next week.  It will be open to all district leaders\, state committeemen & women\, county executives board members and any other Queens Republicans who have an interest in reunifying and rebuilding the Queens GOP.\n \nPlease feel free to share this e-mail with anyone who might be interested in attending since we can’t know everyone and don’t want anyone to feel neglected or forgotten. The meeting is scheduled for: \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n                                  Wednesday\, November 12\, 2014\n\n\n\n\n\n                                              8:00pm\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n                                                        VFW HALL\n\n\n\n\n\n                                             10715 Metropolitan Ave.\n\n\n\n\n\n                                                     Forest Hills\, NY \n\n\n\n\n\n \nThis is an exciting time for Republicans with broad wins across the nation in this last mid-term election cycle\, giving Republicans control of the United States Senate for the first time in years.  Now\, just as folks voted for change in other states\, it’s our turn to make the changes in the Queens County Republican Party that will rebuild and revive our efforts here at home.\n \n\nSince we met last June\, our group formed three working groups to address reform concerns:\n\n\n\nBylaws Committee to review and propose changes to the rules by which we operate as a going concern\n\n\n\nFinancial & Fiscal Accountability Committee to explore and develop best practices in raising funds and using them most effectively to build the party at the grassroots and support candidates for elective office\n\n\n\nInfrastructure/Outreach Committee to examine and develop ways to improve how we handle day to day operations and build the support structure that nurtures and facilitates improved party activism at the grassroots level\n\n\n\n\nWe will receive reports from these three committees at this upcoming meeting as to the status of their efforts and the recommendations they have developed for us to take to the County Executive Board so we can begin to consider the steps we must undertake to improve and rebuild the Queens Republican party that we support. We hope you all will be able to join us and participate in this important effort to rejuvenate and rebuild the Queens GOP!\n\nSincerely\,\n \nMargaret A. Wagner\n(347)236-2018\n \nJames McClelland\n\n\n\n\n(347)834-3962

SUMMARY:Next General Club Meeting: "A Country in Crisis - So What's to be Done?"
DESCRIPTION:NEXT GENERAL CLUB MEETING: \n THURS\, NOV. 13\, 2014 AT 7:30 PM \nGuest Speaker: Dr. Jerome Huyler\nAssistant professor at Seton Hall University in NJ.  Author of “Locke in America: The Moral Philosophy of the Founding Era” and “Everything You Have:  The Case Against Welfare.” Both books will be available for sale. \nMeeting at:  Knights of Columbus\nSt. Anne’s Council\n263-15 Union Tpke.\, Glen Oaks\, NY 11004 \n“A Country in Crisis:  So What’s To Be Done?”  \nDr. Jerome Huyler \nDr. Jerome Huyler will present a timely talk for a troubled time. \nA Country in Crisis: To all those who fear the country is going in the wrong direction\, that government is too big\, too expensive\, way too intrusive\, and that unless we change course soon and retrieve our founding principles\, we will continue to court calamity for ourselves and for generations not yet born\, ask yourself: \nSo what’s to be done? In this talk Dr. Huyler explains why the current proposals for a flat tax\, a fair tax\, term limit legislation \, a balanced-budget amendment\, and Mark Levin’s Convention of States or Connie Mack’s “Penny Plan” and will come too late and accomplish too little. The only way to save US is to wake our neighbors and send an army of Mr. Smiths to Washington to CUT programs and CLOSE agencies\, CUT & CLOSE. \nTo restore opportunity & prosperity and preserve the founders’ vision of liberty we must work to defund ObamaCare then dismantle the rest of the welfare state\, i.e.\, make government a PROTECTOR not a PROVIDER. Why? Because as Pres. Gerald Ford warned the nation back in 1976\, “A government that’s big enough to give you anything you want is big enough to take everything you have.”
