ACTOR TONY LO BIANCO TO HOST LINCOLN DINNER!

The Little Flower Flyer-crop-2Folks, we’re in the countdown.  Sunday, February 9 is the day our Lincoln Day Dinner takes off for what promises to be another stellar performance for this historic Club.

Tony Lo Bianco as Fiorello H La Guardia

We are pleased to announce a stunning list of speakers. Actor Tony Lo Bianco has graciously agreed to be the Master of Ceremonies for our Lincoln Day Dinner at Antun’s. Tony’s career in films spans from 1968 to 2011 including roles in the French Connection (1971) and Body of Evidence (1988).  His television credits and live theatre roles are extensive and are available on-line for you to peruse. Currently Tony stars in a one-man show The Little Flower, which presents a historic look into the life and career of Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia – a courageous and flamboyant personality who fought against corruption and cleaned up city politics. “What this city needs is another LaGuardia!”

Peter King-2The Keynoter will be Long Island’s Congressman, and possible presidential candidate, Peter King, voted the best Republican on Long Island according to the “Bethpage Best of L.I.” poll.  King made headlines when he held hearings in Washington on the threat to America by home-grown Muslim terrorists.  Liberals, who by definition have difficulty dealing with reality, went bananas over these hearings.  But King had the spine to continue them anyway.

The Lincoln Address will be delivered by 2013 NYC Comptroller candidate John Burnett who hails from our own Queens Village and is considered a rising star in the Republican Party in NYC.  John is a paid member of our Club and surprised and delighted us with an unannounced drop-in on our Summer Barbecue last August in the middle of his City-wide campaign.  Burnett is a favorite of the Conservative Party.

DanBonginoDan Bongino will be receiving the Patriot of the Year Award.  Daniel “Dan” Bongino is a former United States Secret Service Agent and was the Republican Party candidate in Maryland’s 2012 election for the United States Senate. Bongino, who began his career as an NYPD officer patrolling the streets of Brooklyn, is now running for the U.S. House of Representatives seat from Maryland’s 6th Congressional District in the 2014 election.  The seat represents an area of Western Maryland.  In October Bongino, a Tea Party favorite, was endorsed by former congressman LTC Allen West.

The invitational flyer gives you a listing of other notable speakers, presenters, and awardees.  Please get your ticket orders in as quickly as possible.  The caterer discourages tickets being sold at the door as a seating plan is required and an accurate count must be given in advance to Antun’s.  Mail in your checks, or go online to our website www.qvgop.org and purchase your tickets there with the printable flyer for mailing or secure online credit card purchase. You can also pay your 2014 membership dues there and make a contribution. The online purchase price is slightly higher to cover our costs of doing business transactions online.

We encourage you to make a contribution even if you can’t come.  This will help fund the ticket price for Young Republicans, future leaders of America who can’t afford the full price. A special part of the awards ceremony will be the presentation of the Youth of the Year award honoring our own Club member, Adam Sackowitz a Young Republican of public and civic achievement, presented by Ryan James Girdusky, a notable young political columnist and commentator. This is an elegant gala and it is the one major fundraiser for the Club to carry us through the year. We have endeavored to hold the line on the ticket price in the face of rising expenses.

As always, there will be music, dancing, and a lavish spread of food, spirits and desserts.  This is the most anticipated event in the Queens Republican political calendar. It is the event to be at and be seen at.  Last year we had over 175 people.  On February 9 will we see you there?
